Quiet weekend moments
Stress seems to be a common theme for us recently. Let’s be honest- the holidays, in addition to being a wonderful time of year that brings people together, are also a huge pain in the ass. In addition to all our regular tasks we have to get presents together for everyone, bake cookies, decorate trees and fight crowds in stores… all the while engaging in serious MSB. This weekend I decided I needed to take some time to actually enjoy the season. Shocking concept. I started with a walk at Greenwich Point. Since moving to Connecticut, one of my favorite things is actually the beach when there is colder weather. The colors are cool and beautiful. The rattling of boat masts sounds like wind chimes. And most importantly, the nipping temperatures let me earn the hot chocolate I had to drink when I got home. Of course, I had to then follow that with a savory meal of pasta mixed with mushrooms, portabello mushrooms, spinach, gorgonzola cheese, and an onion sauce. Yum.
