Attached at the Hip | Part 2

{ Monday Blog Series: We’re going to start the week from now on with a new little tidbit that will lovingly be titled Attached at the Hip. It’s going to be the day of the week that we bring you reports of things we did together or our different takes on things. It will be a day of sisterhood, adventures and a general state of ridiculousness. Why not celebrate how much we love one another and how different yet the same we are?! }

The other weekend A. came out of the concrete jungle to join me for a non-city Sunday where she could enjoy quiet, trees, cars where you don’t pay the driver, grocery stores where people leisurely walk around and a decided lack of honking taxis. We went for a quick trip up to Cannondale, the historic village in Wilton, Connecticut. This of course was nothing but quiet as it is a quaint little corner tucked in the woods with a train station, a couple shops, a babbling brook (A. could not get over the fact that brook did in fact actually babble) and a schoolhouse that is now the Schoolhouse at Cannondale Restaurant. This one-room former educational establishment is home to some of the best hot chocolate, served with homemade marshmallows, that two girls could ask for. We enjoyed that along with mimosas, cappuccino, eggs Benedict, biscuits with gravy etc. Yes,we’ve been over this. We love brunch.

Next door to the schoolhouse is a British shop called Penny Ha Penny that has a wide selection of products imported from Britain. From fruit pastilles, Irn Bru, Marmite, digestive biscuits and clotted cream fudge, they have you covered… not to mention the wide selection of Keep Calm products. Very much a weakness of ours as you all know.
